When you think about last minute adventure travel deals, what comes to mind is usually a reservation booked a week or even just a few days in advance. But with a new iPhone apps, it's possible now to book your hotel just hours in advance. By doing so, travelers can save even more then by booking a few days ahead of time. At a time when prices in the travel industry have again been on the rise, this can be a new tool to find the best deals out there.
A recent study by Priceline found that more people are embracing this idea, as up to 82% of travelers using the company's mobile app booked their hotel room within 24 hours of arrival. Some use this tool to make mid-vacation changes, such as an upgrade to a nicer hotel or a new stop on their itinerary. Others enjoy the adventure of going somewhere with no reservations and figuring it out on the fly with nothing but their iPhone in hand.
